The Dictionary Server is a purpose-built metadata service that gives AI agents a structured view of your legacy estate. It is exposed through the Model Context Protocol as 90+ specialised tools, spanning COBOL, PL/I, HLASM, BMS, JCL, IMS/DB and MQSeries — so an agent quotes authoritative facts about your code rather than guessing from training data.

Every tool is defined against a unified ToolDefinition contract, so the surface is consistent to build against and consistent to reason from. The server speaks the full protocol — structured output, MCP Resources, progress notifications, prompts and elicitation — and follows read-only access patterns throughout, which is what makes it safe to point at a compliance-sensitive estate.
